Is there a way to repair system32\inetsrv file permissions?

Hi,

We have a machine here that is primarly used by "contractors".  I'm not sure what they did to it, if anything.  But the C:\windows\sytem32\inetsrv\** directories have the permissions all out of sorts.

Last week, all the sites started throwing a 403 error.  Someone here took a look at it,

"I think I got it fixed – the inetsrv folder's permissions got all messed up.   I had to take ownership of the folder before it would even let me in.  I’m not sure how that happened."

Me neither...   And since then, web deploy isn't working since the inetsrv\config directory doesn't have the WMSVC account granted (nor anyone else).  So I can sit here and compare / add permissions around, but this seems like a failed approach.

Does anyone know what may be happening to this machine, and further more is there a way to "repair" the inetsrv directory?  We could uninstall / reinstall IIS from scratch, but we'd like to avoid that as there are 5 or 6 websites on there we're trying to preserve.  Any thoughts?  TIA
