Application Pool names on farmed/load-balanced web servers

Hello,

I have a general question. I am hosting a site on two farmed/load balanced Server 2008 R2/IIS 7 web servers. My question is; Do my Application pools need to be "Named" the same in IIS on both of the web servers?  The application pools are configured identically, the only difference is the name.
