Hi All,

New to the forum and fairly inexperienced with IIS.

Am trying to migrate a site from Server 2003/IIS 6 to 2008/IIS 7 using web deploy version 3.0.  I ran the pre migratory checks and think that everything is in place.

Haven't got very far into it and have already got the following error after using the 'whatif' switch.  Please see below:

c:\Program Files\IIS\Microsoft Web Deploy V3>msdeploy -verb:sync -source:webserver,computerName=UK1YNTAPP02 -dest:webserver60 -whatif > msdeploy_test.log
Error Code: ERROR_EXCEPTION_WHILE_CREATING_OBJECT
More Information: Object of type 'webServer' and path '' cannot be created.  Lea
rn more at: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=221672#ERROR_EXCEPTION_WHILE_
CREATING_OBJECT.

Error: Object of type 'webServer' and path '' cannot be created.
Error: A command was issued that requires the IIS Configuration System but the system is not available. Make sure you are using a version of IIS that contains the Configuration System.
Error count: 1.

Am obviously trying Google to help my cause but was hoping someone may be able to shed some light or point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

Krib.
