I have a website setup with an application on a Windows 2012R2 server using IIS 8.5. This application uses Help files that are in PDF format and are located on an external server. On an older machine we have been creating a Virtual Directory and mapping to that external server using \\servername\path\. We use a "Connect As" for permissions. It works perfectly from a Windows 2003 server running IIS 6. But on IIS8 on the 2012R2 server click on the Help Files returned a "404 error" Cannot find file or directory.
We have tried as a test to just copy the "pdf" files inside the website and not using a Virtual Directory, but we still get the same error.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated... I am not a programmer. I am the Configuration Manager.
