Hello everyone. Here is my scenario:
We have been deploying a disk cache solution to our customers to cache our Flash and other content when they access our Web servers to reduce their bandwidth drain. We have been using ISA to Forefront TMG to accomplish this. Now that MS no longer offers Forefront TMG we do not have an MS solution for our clients. All we care about is disk caching and preloading content on a machine not any proxy or security although TMG provided it. We are looking for a solution that does not include having our customers purchase a third party product outside of MS products.
Right now we are deploying Ubuntu with Squid which is a great solution but is a service nightmare when you are dealing with strictly MS customers who do not have nor will have Linux administrators so the support falls totally on us. We are not an open source shop either so you see the support cost associated with deploying Linux to hundreds of customers.
Here is my question:
Can we deploy disk caching in IIS7 Using ARR 2.5 on a single Web server not a farm? If so can you point me to the steps because I cannot find them on this forum specific to one machine and MS only includes server farm steps?
